Teresa Nichole Swanhorst

Ms. Swanhorst is a native of Mellette, South Dakota.

Ms. Swanhorst graduated suma cum laude from Northern State University in Aberdeen, South Dakota with a B.S. in Elementary Education and a minor in coaching. She was a member of the Northern State Women’s basketball and volleyball teams.

Ms. Swanhorst graduated magna cum laude from North Carolina Central University School of Law where she served as Articles Editor of the North Carolina Central Law Journal. While attending law school, Ms. Swanhorst was a member of the NCCU School of Law Trial Team, Mediation Team, Civil Litigation Clinic, and also served as a Property Teaching Assistant.

Before attending law school, Ms. Swanhorst was a 5th grade teacher for three years with the Wake County Public School System at Jeffreys Grove Elementary in Raleigh, North Carolina. Ms. Swanhorst began her legal career as an associate with Charles R. Ullman and Associates. Ms. Swanhorst’s practice areas are limited to divorce, child custody, child support, alimony, equitable distribution, domestic violence, alienation of affection and criminal conversation.

Ms. Swanhorst is a member of the North Carolina Bar Association and Wake County Bar Association. She is also a volunteer with Project Together, a program to assist victims of domestic violence who are indigent.

In her free time, Ms. Swanhorst enjoys watching college basketball, going to the beach, and spending time with her puppy, Frankie.
